Albuquerque Public Schools
Del Norte High School was constructed in 1960 and over the years has undergone numerous remodeling and addition projects. The recent Phase II new construction, addition and renovation project transformed the decades-old school into a world class and technologically innovative learning facility.
Phase II included additions, renovations and the construction of a three-story, 150,000-square foot building on the site of the former Montgomery parking lot. The building serves 1,200 students in grades 9 through 12, with the 1st floor dedicated to 9th grade education and floors two and three accommodating sophomore, junior and senior academics.
The project included demolition of the auxiliary gym locker room, which was converted to a ROTC facility. This portion of the project was conducted while school was in session.
The Phase II project was designed and constructed to meet LEED Silver Certification standards.
